Bryan King could see Arsenal signing 20-year-old Aston Villa goalkeeper Oliwier Zych.

The ex-Villa scout doesn't think the Gunners would need to pay much to sign the Villa shot-stopper.

And King - speaking exclusively to Villa News - could see a deal happening.

"If you're going to sell a goalkeeper, you'd sell the third choice," King said.

"Perhaps they have somebody younger than him who has just as much potential. It wasn't too long ago that Arsenal used a 16-year-old in the Carabao Cup.

"Therefore, they need another goalkeeper. If they feel as though this kid can come in and be the number two, he will be the number two because David Raya is their clear first choice.

"They wouldn't need to pay big money for him, that is for sure. If Arsenal are really interested, and Villa feel it is right, then that could happen."

Arsenal to sign Aston Villa goalkeeper Oliwier Zych?

Brighton and Arsenal both being interested in the youngster is a clear sign of his potential. Therefore, Unai Emery might not want to let the goalkeeper go.

After Emiliano Martínez, there isn't much competition at the club for a place between the sticks, and keeping Zych around could prove beneficial for Emery and Villa.

However, if Arsenal can offer Zych the number two position at the Emirates behind David Raya, it is difficult to see the youngster refusing such an opportunity.

As a result, Villa might have no choice but to let him go. Therefore, if Emery doesn't want that to happen, he needs to start making some first-team guarantees to Zych, especially with the goalkeeper entering the final year of his contract with the club.
