Bryan King claims Aston Villa must be careful not to rush midfielder Boubacar Kamara back from injury.

Unai Emery has revealed that Kamara is set to return to first-team training within "a few weeks". Kamara has been out of action since February after rupturing his ACL and was initially slated to return in October (via The Athletic, 23 August).

And King - speaking exclusively to Villa News - insists that the club will know how to handle Kamara's return.

"This will be like a brand-new signing for Villa," King said.

"That in itself will please Emery and it will please the squad too. He will certainly strengthen the squad once he is back.

"It is a good thing for both the club and the player. It is just important that he isn't rushed back, but they will know what to do with him, that is for sure.

"There is no point in him rushing back because if anything happens it could delay his return by a month or two."

Aston Villa midfielder Boubacar Kamara set for first-team return

Kamara has been out of action for around seven months.

Therefore, once the midfielder does return to action he will no doubt need some time to get back to his best at Villa Park.

As a result, Emery and the Villa supporters must be patient with the player. However, that shouldn't undermine how exciting this news is for the club.

Villa are competing in the UEFA Champions League this season and will therefore need plenty of squad depth. As a result, Kamara's return to action couldn't have come at a better time.
