Dean Jones has shared that Aston Villa may need to pay upwards of £40million to prise Yves Bissouma away from Brighton in the summer.

The Seagulls turned down a £25million bid from the Lions in the January window as they valued the midfielder at £50million according to The Athletic.

With the Mali international now only having 12-months left on his Amex contract, a new fee has been outlined for the 25-year-old by Jones who also rubbished any chance of Danny Ings leaving in a potential swap deal.

He said as per GIVEMESPORT: "Brighton will value Bissouma at, I don’t know, £40 million, at least, I imagine."

Calculated.

Brighton surely can't turn their noses up to Ings, can they? Neal Maupay has had a stinker of a season and they haven’t got a backup as good as the English. He could probably slot right in as their first-choice striker.

He is a hugely experienced Premier League striker and his goalscoring ability and brilliant attacking play cant be taken for granted.

Even if they offer the former Liverpool man and a small fee on top, that would be a great deal. Not only would it save a lot of money for Steven Gerrard to use elsewhere in the summer but it would free up space in the squad and on the wage bill.

With Arsenal eyeing a move for Douglas Luiz in the summer with the Lions midfielder only having just over a year left on his Villa Park contract, it is imperative they replace him.

He will be a huge miss if he leaves the club but Bissouma would be a suitable replacement.
