Aston Villa can point the finger at Chelsea as they face yet another fine.

The Villans haven't had the greatest luck financially over the years and that has certainly continued this summer.

Player sales are going to be needed to help fund incoming transfers, with Morgan Rogers linked with a big-money exit.

The monetary concerns at Villa Park haven't been helped by recent financial punishments.

A recent example saw UEFA fine the Villans over £8,000 after a “discriminatory banner” was displayed by a fan at the Europa League final.

There has since been another sanction in B6, one which Chelsea played their part in causing.

Aston Villa hit with six-figure Premier League fine

Nothing truly surprises the claret and blue faithful anymore as these sorts of issues seem to lie around every corner.

Picking up two major fines in as many weeks just sums up the frustration of everyone in B6.

The latest comes from the Premier League as Villa were fined £570,000 for delaying kick-off's throughout last season.

The Villans admitted to being responsible doing so on 10 separate occasions for the start of the first or second half of games.

There is responsibility being taken there, but it's hard to swallow when Chelsea were heavily involved in £150,000 of that.

Why Chelsea can be blamed for part of Aston Villa fine

The B6 outfit were fined £130,000 for a breach against the Blues before £20,000 was added for the "aggravating nature of the club’s repeat offending".

That may seem to be fair, but cast your mind back to March when Chelsea secured a 4-1 win at Villa Park.

Joao Pedro scored a hat-trick, but it was the pre-match antics that caught the eye.

Liam Rosenior's players huddled around the ball in the centre circle, forcing Ollie Watkins out of the way to do so.

Referee Jarred Gillett didn't stop them and yet it is Villa who have been charged by the Premier League for a delayed kick-off.

The half was delayed by over two minutes, as per Sky Sports, and that is undoubtedly due to Chelsea's antics.

Villa surely have the Stamford Bridge outfit to blame as they picked up a six-figure fine despite looking to get underway with their own kick-off.
