Aston Villa could land £10m-per-year from new sponsor, announcement expected in days
Aston Villa are finally set to get one shirt sponsorship agreement in place.
The Villans have been impacted as much as anyone by the gambling sponsor ban in the Premier League.
Betano and Trade Nation have both been forced out of B6 at the end of their deals after regularly being removed from shirts throughout the Europa League campaign.
The change in sponsorship rules have made it a sellers market which leaves cards in the sponsor's hands rather than the clubs.
Villa have been unable to secure any new partners at this stage as the new released shirt is totally plain.
That now looks set to change as Visit Rwanda look to be edging closer to sealing a deal at Villa Park.
Aston Villa set to announce Visit Rwanda as new shirt sleeve sponsor
The claret and blue outfit haven't been in the market for a new sleeve sponsor since the summer of 2023.
A one year deal was sealed with Trade Nation before it was eventually extended until 2026.
There is now a hunt for a new agreement, but it was delayed as Villa waited to see how they fared in the Europa League and their hunt for Champions League qualification.
That could allow the B6 side to demand a larger fee from potential sponsors and that now looks to have resulted in a new deal.
A report from Facts on Rwanda emerged on Thursday suggesting that Aston Villa are set to announce a partnership with Visit Rwanda.
The deal is set to be announced in the coming days as the tourism board look to expand their promotion efforts in the Premier League and beyond.
The report says that an agreement at Villa Park is likely to centre on sleeve sponsorship in a similar fashion to their previous Arsenal deal.
That could see the Villans earn a similar fee which would certainly come as a boost.
Aston Villa could land £10m per year from Visit Rwanda
There is no confirmation of a fee at this stage, but there is every chance that Villa follow in Arsenal's footsteps this summer.
Their deal concluded when the season finished, marking the end of an eight year association with the North London club.
That reportedly earned the Gunners over £10million per year, equating to upwards of £80m over the course of their sponsorship.
The Midlands outfit will be delighted to earn a fee in that region as their initial deal with Trade Nation was worth just £2m, according to the Daily Mail.
That sums up the direction the Villans are going in and is certainly a step in the right direction after years of financial difficulty.
