Aston Villa: Morgan Rogers’ best option is to stay put after new Arsenal reveal
Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers has been continuously linked with a move away throughout his time at Villa Park.
Joining from Middlesbrough in 2024, the attacking midfielder has continued to shift through the gears under Unai Emery.
As a result, he has been rewarded with consistent spots in the England squad, while he has proven talismanic at times for Villa.
With this in mind, the 23-year-old has been seen as an option for clubs at the very top of the Premier League and Europe.
Though the best option for Rogers may just be to stay put at Villa Park, where he is already well on track to become a hero.

Champions lodge interest in Morgan Rogers – a move may not be the best option
With a wand of a right foot, bags of technical qualities alongside the physical stature to match, Halesowen-born Rogers has developed into a top-flight star.
While he has suffered dips in form this term, he has been integral to Emery’s style of play, with Sunday’s win against Manchester City being the only match he has not made a league appearance in.
| Stat (Premier League 25/26) | Morgan Rogers |
| Appearances | 37 |
| Minutes played | 3285 |
| Goals | 10 |
| Assists | 6 |
| Chances created | 47 |
| Duels won | 158 |
Missing just 135 minutes of football, Rogers has racked up 3,285 minutes across the season, with only Ezri Konsa coming close in the Villa squad, with 3,036 to his name.
Even during his dips in form, he has been the man to watch out for in claret and blue, scoring 10 times and registering six assists in the league, naturally prompting interest.
As per TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook, Premier League champions Arsenal are interested in the versatile attacker, with preliminary talks believed to have taken place, while Chelsea and Manchester United are known admirers.
It is said that the Villans value Rogers at £80million minimum, with the figure potentially rising to around £100m as a result of a bidding war.
For the player himself, though, his best option may just be at Villa Park, where he can continue growing with the club as they look to fight for titles in the coming years.
What can Aston Villa and Morgan Rogers offer each other?
Villa are a club on the up, as has been the case since Emery arrived in 2022.
Securing a return to the Champions League, alongside a Europa League win that could well be transformative, the only way is up for the Midlands.
Out of the current group, Rogers will only improve and grow with the project, with his current talismanic role potentially earning him iconic status down the line, should the Villans go on to fight for more silverware.
Alongside this, his importance in the England squad will only improve, with his club building around him.

With this in mind, the B6 outfit has to keep its end of the bargain and prove that they are a club with the ambitions of challenging at the very top.
Should he make a move, he may not have the same influence, as seen with Eberechi Eze’s move to Arsenal, where he has hardly been a consistent starter.
If the ambition is there with Villa, and they feel they can raise capital through other means than selling the local boy, the best option for all parties would be to see him stay put at Villa Park.
As a side on the up, they must move heaven and earth to convince one of their stars that the future will be equally as bright as the 2025-26 campaign.
