Aston Villa’s worst fear subdued as Unai Emery odds shift for Chelsea job
Aston Villa will have minor worries about losing Unai Emery in the near future.
The Villans have had yet another excellent campaign, and Emery has been at the forefront of it.
However, that hasn’t been without a cost, with the former Arsenal manager having already been linked with a whole host of jobs if he were to leave Villa Park.
Emery has been touted for the Man United job in the past, as well as various jobs at the highest level abroad.
Aston Villa will not want to lose him, but with Chelsea on the hunt for a new manager, their fears will resurface again.

Fortunately for Villa, Emery is not the favourite to take over Stamford Bridge.
In fact, he’s quite far down the list of managers who are in the running for the job, with Andoni Iraola at the top, having announced his exit from Bournemouth at the end of the season.

He’s priced at 3/1 with some bookmakers to take over from the recently sacked Liam Rosenior, while other names such as Xabi Alonso and Marco Silva also feature among the favourites.

As for Emery, he is priced at 20/1 to be the next Chelsea manager, which should give some Villa supporters optimism that he will remain at Villa Park, at least for another campaign.
Previously, the Spaniard was priced as low as 12/1, showcasing the drop in likelihood.
What is Emery’s contract situation?
Another reason that Villa should have little concern about Emery moving on is because of his contract situation at Villa Park.
Having signed a new deal in 2024, Enmery is contracted to Aston Villa until 2029, meaning they would almost certainly be in for a heavy compensation fee if the unfortunate were to happen.
But as of right now, there looks to be no reason to fear for his exit, especially with Aston Villa thriving under his stewardship.
