Aston Villa urged to agree cut-price fee for Marco Asensio return
Aston Villa could bring Marco Asensio back in when the summer transfer window opens.
It looked for all the world as if the former Spain international would return to Villa Park after his initial loan spell came to an end.
The attacking midfielder was an excellent goalscoring force in claret and blue, but was part of the side that frustratingly missed out on Champions League qualification.
That failure looks set to be rectified this season with Unai Emery’s side edging ever closer to a place back in Europe’s elite competition.
There now appears to be hope that a Villa reunion could be on the cards for Asensio, with just weeks remaining until the end of the season.

Aston Villa could sign Marco Asensio on cheap deal
The B6 outfit certainly saw the best of the Real Madrid loanee in the early stages of his move in the 2025 January window.
He made an immediate difference and helped fire the Villans to several victories with his exploits in front of goal.
| Stat (Premier League 24/25) | Marco Asensio |
| Appearances | 13 |
| Minutes played | 745 |
| Goal involvements | 4 |
| Chances created | 16 |
| Duels won | 27 |
Things ran dry towards the end of his temporary spell, but it still looked as if a permanent deal would be activated in the Midlands.
That didn’t happen, and he went on to join Fenerbahce, but could find himself on his way back to Villa Park if former scout Bryan King gets his wish.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, King said: “I still like Asensio; I really liked him.
“If they win the Europa League and get back into the Champions League, I’d bring him back.
“I just think he would be a great asset to bring in because he really made Villa look a class outfit.

“He’s coming from Turkiye, so he’s not going to cost massive money, and he’s only got a year left on his deal.
“If I were Villa, I would go and get him on a two-year deal in the summer.”
Asensio could have taken a pay cut to rejoin Villa, and he could be set to do exactly that when the opportunity arises in the summer.
How has Asensio performed for Fenerbahce?
There may be a feeling in B6 that signing the attacker may now pose a risk after a season in the Super Lig.
That certainly shouldn’t be the case, as he has continued to hit the heights so far this campaign with Fenerbahce.
Asensio already has 26 goal involvements across all competitions, but has featured across just 37 appearances at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.

That is certainly an impressive output and is something that could serve him well if he is to make a Villa Park return in the summer.
The Spaniard could make a telling difference if he returns, and on a cheap deal, it could prove to be a no-brainer.
