Harvey Elliott reacts as last-ditch Aston Villa exit is sealed

Harvey Elliott has been linked with an Aston Villa exit throughout the winter window.

Elliott has hardly played for Villa this season due to a clause in his contract that would prompt a £35million deal if he plays 10 games.

That isn’t a clause that Unai Emery wants to activate, and that has seen the Spaniard limit the summer signings’ minutes in B6.

There have been signs of the England under-21 international in recent weeks, as he started for Villa in the 3-2 win against RB Salzburg and came on against Brentford.

Questions were raised about Elliott’s future at Villa Park moving into deadline day, and with the window now over with, the 22-year-old has reacted to the latest B6 developments.

Harvey Elliott reacts as Aston Villa loan exit confirmed

Elliott looks destined to stay at Villa for the rest of the season, with the hope of changing the terms surrounding his loan arrangement.

The Villans are set to open talks with Liverpool and look to make the attacker’s loan beneficial for all parties.

If the Anfield club agree to changes, that would see the ex-Fulham youngster become a regular option for Emery across the second half of the season.

That is especially going to be the case with Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba completing his deadline day loan switch to West Brom.

The 19-year-old took to Instagram after the deal was confirmed to tell his new fanbase that he is “ready to work”.

The post has been liked by Elliott, while former Villa man Tim Iroegbunam has also reacted with a heart emoji comment.

Elliott to step in for Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba

The teenager grabbed his first Villa goal as he netted the winner in the Europa League clash against RB Salzburg.

It was one of the moments of the season to see a young star score in front of the Holte End, especially to secure a comeback victory.

Jimoh-Aloba has now moved on, and after such a star performance, will require replacing if Elliott is able to step up to the plate.

If his loan agreement can be altered, there is no reason why he can’t do exactly that and prove why the Villans brought him in.
