Steven Gerrard has been everywhere in the headlines this month.

After a failed spell at Aston Villa, Gerrard rocked up in Saudi Arabia to manage Al Ettifaq, but that also crashed after a disastrous period in management.

Gerrard has only ever tasted success at Rangers, winning the Scottish Premiership in an invincibles season to catch the eye of NSWE at Villa Park.

After Russell Martin was sacked on October 5, Ibrox News shared that Gerrard was the favourite to take over in Glasgow again, only to back out at the final minute.

Despite that, a sensational U-turn may now be on the cards.

Oddschecker has shared the latest odds, with the Liverpool legend now odds-on across three different bookmakers to take charge again at Ibrox.

Rohl appears to have dropped completely, with Muscat and then Ole Gunnar Solskjaer behind the former Aston Villa manager in the running to take over.

The Spaniard took Villa from the edge of relegation to the Champions League within two years, and European football has become a consistent theme now.

How did Steven Gerrard perform at Aston Villa?

No Aston Villa fan looks back on the Gerrard days with delight.

Despite starting with four wins from six games, only losing to Manchester City and Liverpool in that time, it quickly unravelled for the Merseyside icon.

Only one win in eight followed, and at the end of that spell, many fans at Villa Park had already seen enough to know they wanted to part ways.

No disrespect to Rangers and the Scottish Premiership, but Gerrard quickly learned the difference in the Premier League, and it cost him his job before he could even reach a year in charge.

With a return to Ibrox seemingly on the cards again, he would be wise to take that chance and try and rebuild himself as a manager.
