How much Jacob Ramsey could earn as Aston Villa make contract offer

Aston Villa have placed a lot of their focus on keeping their best players at the club this summer amid financial setbacks.

Profit and Sustainability ruling has restricted Unai Emery’s transfer business this summer, and therefore, they have watched many targets move on to other clubs.

The Villans have also faced a battle to convince some of their best players to stay at Villa Park, with Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers both tipped to leave.

In a bid to raise funds, Villa could have sold Jacob Ramsey this summer, but they now appear to have put their faith in the midfielder.

Ramsey could earn… after contract news

Ramsey could extend his stay at Villa Park after being offered a new contract, according to Sky Sports journalist Mark McAdam on X (8 August).

After selling his brother Aaron to Burnley two seasons ago, Emery has faced a battle to keep Ramsey in the Midlands.

The 24-year-old had been linked with a move to the likes of Premier League rivals Everton this summer.

The Toffees have also shown interest in John McGinn, though moves away for the pair are now looking even more unlikely.

PlayerWeekly wage
Boubacar Kamara£150,000
Youri Tielemans£150,000
Emiliano Martinez£150,000
Donyell Malen£140,000
Amadou Onana£140,000
Villa’s top five highest-paid players

Ramsey currently has two years remaining on his contract, and with a new offer set to increase his stay by a good few years, Villa supporters will be wondering how much he could earn.

According to Capology, Villa’s top earner is Boubacar Kamara, who recently signed a new contract and is on £150,000 a week.

He is joined by Youri Tielemans and Emiliano Martinez on the same wage, but Ramsey wouldn’t be expected to become Villa’s top earner.

Ramsey is currently on £70,000 per week, and he will be expecting a healthy pay rise from his new contract.

Therefore, the 24-year-old would be expected to earn around £120,000 with the Villans and would climb into the top ten earning players at Aston Villa.

Donyell Malen contract extension could be next

After joining the Villans in January, Malen only has one year remaining on his existing contract.

Given his fine form during preseason and his ability to make an impact in the 2025/26 campaign, he could be the next to sign a new contract with the Villans.

The Dutchman is already on a healthy wage, so a contract offer could be delayed until Villa are able to gather some extra funds.

However, given Emery’s desire to keep his best assets, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Malen offered a new contract in the not-so-distant future.
