Aston Villa transfer round-up: Emery closes in on Yilmaz as swap deal is tabled
Aston Villa have had a quiet transfer window to date.
Unai Emery has only made one signing so far this summer, despite the Birmingham outfit qualifying for Europe once more.
As a result, incomings are needed at Villa Park, with the start of the season just weeks away.
Plenty of players have been linked to Villa. However, departures could also happen before the window slams shut.

Girona make approach for Moreno
One departure that is being considered by Aston Villa is Moreno.
The Spaniard spent last season out on loan to Nottingham Forest after falling down the pecking order.
Girona showed an interest in Moreno earlier this summer, and now the full-back is closer to an exit.
Emery has chosen to leave Moreno behind for Villa’s pre-season tour, with the Catalan side now making an official approach. Both loan and permanent deals are being considered by Emery.
Villa set to offer Rogers a new contract
Another player who has been heavily linked away from Villa is Rogers.
The winger has established himself as a star player at Villa Park just 18 months after his move from Middlesbrough.
As a result, many teams are keen to lure Rogers away from Villa, with Chelsea interested.
However, Villa are now prepared to offer Rogers a new deal to reflect his importance to the team and deter potential suitors.
Talks are still in the preliminary stages, with his current contract running until 2030.
Aston Villa send an improved offer for Yilmaz
On the incoming front, Yilmaz has been linked with a move to Aston Villa.
The Galatasaray star has impressed in Turkey, with the 25-year-old’s stock remaining high since the 2024 Euros.
The asking price for Yilmaz is reportedly £35million, with Villa previously having a £17m bid knocked back.
However, it has been claimed that Villa are increasing their bids for Yilmaz in an attempt to land the winger.
Manchester United propose swap deal for Garnacho and Ollie Watkins
Another star Villa have been linked with is Garnacho.
The Argentine appears to be on his way out of Manchester United as part of a drastic rebuild by the Red Devils.
With Emery in need of an attacker, the winger has been linked with a move to Villa Park.
However, Villa could end up losing Ollie Watkins in return, with Man United proposing a swap deal involving Garnacho and Watkins.
It remains to be seen if the Villans are amenable to United’s suggestion.
