Club Brugge v Aston Villa result predicted by Super Computer in Champions League

Aston Villa finally return to Champions League action this week with a tough trip to Club Brugge in the Round of 16.

Unai Emery will be looking for revenge in Belgium after already falling to a 1-0 defeat at the Jan Breydelstadion in controversial fashion this season.

Tyrone Mings picked up a goal-kick from Emiliano Martinez, leading to a penalty kick which was converted by Hans Vanaken, giving the Belgians all three points.

Emery will be hoping for better as the Villans kick off in the knockout phase.

Aston Villa to pick up huge win at Club Brugge

In what is predicted to be a tight affair in Belgium, the Villans are backed as slight favourites to take the win back to Villa Park for the second leg.

The Opta Analyst supercomputer believes that Aston Villa stand a 38.6 per cent chance of leaving with the win, with Brugge slightly lower at 35 per cent.

A draw wouldn’t be the worst result to take back to Villa Park, with a 26.4 per cent chance of that.

With Liverpool classed as underdogs in their first leg at Paris Saint-Germain, it could set up a mouth-watering quarter final showdown.

Marcus Rashford back in the Champions League

Although likely to be on the bench for Morgan Rogers to come back in, Marcus Rashford could provide all the difference back on the biggest stage.

After starving away at Old Trafford, limited of any chances or good football under Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim, Emery has opened the door to the England international.

With controversy taking centre-stage in the Group Stage game in Belgium, taking that away could see the Villans dominate with their new-look side.

Rashford is part of that, and with Marco Asensio also in sizzling form already for Emery, Aston Villa will want to get this game done and dusted in the first leg if they can.
