Pep Guardiola is increasingly likely to be sacked by Manchester City after their defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday, according to the latest bookmakers' odds.

SkyBet now have Guardiola priced at 5/1 to be the next manager in the Premier League to be dismissed after previously having him at much longer odds.

While the odds have been slashed for Guardiola to be axed by City, West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui (8/11) and Everton manager Sean Dyche (5/2) remain the front-runners to go next.

Guardiola faces sack after Grealish incident v Aston Villa

Manchester City's former Aston Villa star Jack Grealish seemed more intent on riling up players and fans than getting his side three points at Villa Park on Saturday.

As the Citizens lost 2-1, Grealish was spotted in a heated row with Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez after the England international was seen complaining to the referee.

Both were booked before Grealish then hit out at Aston Villa fans for their treatment of him in the game.

Grealish was seen holding three fingers up to the home fans, indicating the number of Premier League titles he's won since quitting Villa Park to join Man City for £100million in 2021.

For a supposed boyhood fan of the club, it just shows how the pressure is getting to Grealish and - on a wider note - Man City as a whole.

Guardiola looks a shell of his former self but will City sack one of the greatest managers in the world of football?

It seems unlikely. You would back him to turn things around but it remains to be seen just how deep this side can plunge.

And we're all excited to see that unfold.
