Aston Villa aren't to blame for the delayed kit launch with next season's kits already designed, according to Dan Bardell.

The Villans will show off their new home shirt for the upcoming campaign on Tuesday (23 July), Chris Heck announced on 17 July via X.

This reveal comes after two preseason games have already been played where a special edition kit has been worn.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell places no blame on Villa's door and has suggested that the provider change has impacted the release date.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bardell said: "It is now being launched on Tuesday, they've said.

"Villa have always been notoriously bad dealing with kits, they always seem like the last ones to let fans see and buy the shirts.

"This time they can be let off because they've ripped up the Castore deal so Villa and Adidas just haven't had enough time. It isn't the club's fault.

"The positive thing is that next season's kits are already designed and are being processed.

"Apparently they are absolutely unbelievable, I'd expect this year's to be more standard but the year after to be something special."

It is certainly a situation which looks quite messy, especially when the Villans had to line up in a plain white shirt for their opening friendlies.

These one-off shirts will be auctioned off for the Aston Villa Foundation which is a positive and the performance wasn't altered by the colour change.

Despite this issue, the right decision was taken to cut short a deal with Castore given the quality issues that the players were dealing with on a game-by-game basis.

This has just hampered the club moving into this summer which, although not by design, makes them look somewhat amateurish.

The likes of Heck have already come under fire for the treatment of supporters with season tickets and hospitality causing plenty of controversy.

The kit launch will certainly appease fans who just want to see the offering that Adidas are putting forward for their first year as the kit provider.
