Samuel Iling-Junior to thrive at Aston Villa as Juventus transfer news emerges

Ty Bracey believes that Samuel Iling-Junior could be a useful addition to the Aston Villa squad and has backed the Juventus youngster to succeed under Unai Emery.

The Englishman looks set for a move to Villa Park alongside Weston McKennie in the deal which will see Douglas Luiz join Juventus [Fabrizio Romano].

At 20-years-old he already has plenty of experience at the top level as he has featured regularly for the Old Lady since 2022.

Villa podcaster Bracey, who has featured on Claret & Blue, has suggested he has potential and his versatility could be used to the advantage of the Villans.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: "Juventus fans seem to be a bit upset that he's leaving so there's obviously a good player there. He's young so he's got the room to grow under Emery.

"He's someone that has operated as a winger and a wing-back so could suit an Emery system in that role. It is always useful to have someone who can cover a variety of positions."

Villa fans will undoubtedly be frustrated that after securing Champions League football, they have been forced into selling one of their key players.

Luiz has featured regularly for the club since joining after the Villans were promoted from the Championship and has gone from strength to strength.

Now he looks set to depart with the Villans completing a swap deal, with Iling-Junior one of the incoming players from Juventus.

The Englishman came through the Chelsea academy before moving to Italy in 2021 and has since made over 40 appearances for the Juve first team.

He features predominantly off the left and has the ability to play as a wing-back or as an out-and-out winger. This could make him well-suited to Emery's system.

The 20-year-old will bring electric pace to the wing at Villa Park, which is something that squads have lacked across the years.

There is no doubt that it is frustrating to lose Luiz, but to get an exciting talent like Iling-Junior as part of that is a silver lining.
