Bryan King believes Giovani Lo Celso would be open to joining Aston Villa.

The ex-Villa scout claims Unai Emery will be keen to work with the Argentinian once again after their time together at Villarreal.

It comes after a report in the Sun (6 June) revealed that Lo Celso is likely to leave Tottenham, with Aston Villa interested.

Emery is said to be a "big fan" of the player.

And King - speaking exclusively to Villa News - feels the move could be suitable for everybody involved.

"Emery will be interested in a player he has worked with before," King said.

"Spurs want to sell him, so as long as the finances are right, I can imagine this is a deal that Villa would be interested in.

"I'm sure Lo Celso would be interested in the move. Regular football at a club playing in the UEFA Champions League?

"This could suit all parties involved."

Giovani Lo Celso could thrive under Unai Emery at Aston Villa

The two enjoyed plenty of success together in Spain as Villarreal reached the UEFA Champions League semi-finals during the 2021/22 season.

And Emery will be hoping to embark on a similar journey with Villa.

Having a player like Lo Celso around could certainly help.

While he has struggled for minutes at Tottenham, there is no doubt that the Argentina international has quality.

Villa need a bigger squad ahead of next season, and Lo Celso could be a smart addition.
