Aston Villa Women agree terms for Olivia McLoughlin exit
Aston Villa Women have confirmed that Olivia McLoughlin will join Rangers when her contract ends at the end of the month.
The midfielder has opted to decline the offer of a new contract from the Villans in favour of departing the club this summer.
The former England youth international will complete a permanent move to Ibrox having spent last season there on loan.
She will now depart Villa Park three seasons after making her debut having spent two loan spells away from the Villans.
Aston Villa Women make Olivia McLoughlin mistake
The news that Villa have failed to come to an agreement with McLoughlin has been met with plenty of frustration on social media.
At 19 years old she had the potential to become one of the Villans’ most important players for many years to come.
With Carla Ward departing, there was a chance that she would become a regular first-team star under whoever is named as the new manager.
She hasn’t given the club that chance, deciding instead to sign permanently for Rangers after they showed faith in her while on loan.
It isn’t necessarily a surprise that McLoughlin has made this decision after barely being able to get a game until departing on loan last summer.

The decision is hers and all Villa fans have to respect that but it doesn’t take away from the frustration that they are feeling.
This deal is somewhat representative of the direction the Women’s team is going and hopefully, it is rectified this summer.
