Aston Villa to add £30m to Ollie Watkins pricetag in new transfer development
Dan Plumley has insisted that Aston Villa can add up to £30million to any Ollie Watkins pricetag after qualifying for the Champions League.
Former Villa Park scout Bryan King has recently insisted that the Villans will be demanding up to £75million from any interested party this summer.
The finance expert admitted that given the Champions League will be worth £50million to Villa, they are now in a position where they may not need to sell big-name players.
“It’s probably easily put another £25-30million on his pricetag being in the Champions League versus not,” he exclusively told Villa News.
“It gives you that power because it’s a minimum of £50million in that competition, even for Villa who have not been in Europe consistently for a long time, it’s still going to generate them a significant return.
“Of course, then you want to keep hold of your best assets, you don’t need to sell them, you’re offering that player Champions League football and a chance to grow in that squad and that’s an attractive proposition for the player.
“If any clubs are looking at your star players and Watkins as an example for Villa and you’re in the Champions League, you can ramp the price tag up a little bit and it takes the pressure off needing to sell and Villa are certainly in that position.”

Ollie Watkins to leave Aston Villa?
Liverpool are one club said to be interested in the England international, with Arne Slot looking to make a statement signing upon arrival at Anfield.
Unai Emery will make sure that his star striker will be going nowhere, especially as he prepares to welcome the biggest clubs in Europe to Villa Park once again.
The only Watkins news that people in B6 want to see this summer is that from the European Championships with England.
In other Aston Villa news, an Emery development could help the club sign one Premier League midfielder.
