Aston Villa: ‘Talented’ Thiago Almada makes Premier League transfer admission after Villa Park speculation
We’re delighted to welcome Aston Villa podcaster Ty Bracey as our exclusive Aston Villa columnist each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the club…
The difference in standard between the MLS and the Premier League shouldn’t be a problem if Aston Villa want to sign Thiago Almada, according to Ty Bracey.
In an interview with ESPN Argentina on 4 December, the 22-year-old Atlanta United winger, who was linked with a move to Villa over the summer [TuttoMercatoWeb], said that he wants to move to Europe now, with the Premier League or La Liga his favoured destinations.
The Argentina international is a highly sought-after talent, having scored 12 goals and laid on 16 assists in 33 appearances last season.
Bracey believes Almada wouldn’t be a bad option for the Villans due to his recent form and because the club could do with another winger.
Asked whether he would have any issues with signing a player from the MLS, speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “It doesn’t bother me at all whatsoever, things like the standard don’t bother me. If the player’s got talent, then that’s all that really matters.
“Adjusting to the Premier League is one thing, but I have no problems with players coming from smaller leagues.

“I think we need another winger anyway, so I don’t think it would be a bad option. He’s a very talented player and is doing well out there.
“But we all know the Premier League is a different ball game, so we will see whether Unai and the gang think he’s up to the challenge.”
