Barcelona want £17.2m for Aston Villa target Ez Abde - report
Aston Villa have been told that it will take a bid of £17.2million (€20m) to sign Ez Abde from Barcelona, according to Sport.
The Spanish outlet reported on its online edition on Wednesday [30 August] that a number of clubs have showed an interest in Abde.
LaLiga trio Sevilla, Real Betis and Osasuna were exploring the possibility of a loan, but Barca need to recoup some funds and are only interested in a permanent sale.
It is claimed that Villa and Bayer Leverkusen are open to making an offer, but the Catalan giants’ asking price is too steep for both clubs.
Exciting talent
Even with a little over a day of the transfer window remaining, Villa are seemingly still intent on adding to their squad.
That can only be a good thing, although a move for Abde appears to be off the cards given this latest development.
The Villans are seemingly not prepared to pay over £17m for the left winger, yet on the face of it that is not exactly a wild valuation.
Abde featured three times at the World Cup for an exciting Morocco side and was directly involved in six LaLiga goals on loan at Osasuna last term.
Xavi also clearly sees something in the youngster, as he has used him twice in Barca’s opening three league games this campaign.
Still aged just 21, Abde has a very bright future ahead of him, whether that be at Camp Nou or elsewhere.
Villa clearly had a different price in mind, though, so it is now a case of moving on to the next target – if there is one – ahead of the window closing.
In other Aston Villa news, the Villans have reportedly named their price for Keinan Davis.
