Marcos Acuna keen on Premier League move amid 'genuine' Aston Villa interest - Fabrizio Romano
Aston Villa hold a “genuine interest” in Sevilla left-back Marcos Acuna, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist provided an update via Twitter (16 August) reporting that the Villains are exploring a move for the 31-year-old, but there has been no agreement on a fee between the two clubs.
However, the Argentina international himself is keen on a move to the Premier League, which could help the Villa in any negotiations.
Elsewhere, a left-back already at the club, Lucas Digne, could leave, with interest in the player from Saudi Arabia and Europe.

It appears as if Villa Park could be set for a reshuffling in the left-back department in the coming weeks. With Acuna perhaps set to come in, which could potentially accelerate any move for Digne to one of the clubs interested in his services.
Some supporters might question the point of this change, with both players above the age of 30, and Digne in fact still younger than Acuna while the Frenchman also has existing experience in England’s top flight.
Although, Acuna’s track record suggests that he could be of assistance to Unai Emery this season. The full-back is a serial winner, with World Cup, Copa America and UEFA Europa League medals all sitting in his collection.
And of course, there is no reason why Acuna’s arrival necessarily has to bring to an end Digne’s time with Villa. Emery could look to keep both left-backs on the books, adding much-needed competition to his squad ahead of a season in Europe.
In other Aston Villa news, one of the club’s summer signings now faces a big test following recent developments.
