Manchester United Women are signing highly-rated England youth international Evie Rabjohn from Aston Villa Women, Villa News has been told.

Rabjohn, 17, will sign a professional contract at Man United on her 18th birthday on 28 April.

The versatile centre-back, who can also play as a defensive midfielder, is viewed as a future Lioness and plays with a similar style to England Women captain Leah Williamson.

Rabjohn came through at Aston Villa’s academy and will link straight up with the Man United first team.

However, Villa News has been told by a source close to the transfer that she won’t be eligible for their remaining games in the WSL this season.

In women’s football, players under the age of 18 who move clubs before they sign their first professional contract can move with zero compensation due.

The teenage sensation has previously worked with Man United Women manager Marc Skinner when he was at Birmingham’s academy, where Rabjohn started her career.

Skinner wants to build a squad that is equipped with depth to keep them at the top of the women’s game.

As it stands, Man United Women are top of the WSL, one point clear of second-placed Chelsea, who have a game in hand.

Villa News has been told that this is a long-term signing for Man United not one for the present.

In other Aston Villa Women news, Alisha Lehmann has proven her love for the Villans.
