Lucas Digne insists his best years are yet to come at Aston Villa
Aston Villa defender Lucas Digne has insisted that his best years are yet to come as he looks to build on his Villa Park career.
The France international joined the Lions from Everton in January in a deal that will keep him at the club until 2026, worth up to £25million [Sky Sports].
Despite turning 29 at the end of July, the defender is adamant he will only get better as he looks to build on his impressive Villans start.

Digne said as per Express & Star: “In general – after half a season at Villa Park – it has been good already, and it will be even better in the future – for the team and for myself.
“I’m coming up to the best age for a football player and I believe that the next few seasons will be the best in my career.”
Future.
Footballers are no longer finished as they approach their thirties in modern-day football.
The advancements in technology and the way the players look after themselves nowadays have seen many enter their prime at similar ages to Digne in recent years rather than decline.

That isn’t saying the 28-year-old is going to find a new lease of life but there is still plenty of fuel left in his tank to help build on his strong Villa Park start.
He was the perfect signing in January – all of the trouble he faced at Everton essentially forced him into Steven Gerrard’s arms for a relatively cheap price which is almost unheard of now in football.
That didn’t impact his football – thankfully – and he came to the club and undoubtedly improved the quality within the team.
Hopefully, the Lions can add one or two more players to the squad ahead of next season to partner the likes of Digne, Philippe Coutinho and Diego Carlos ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
